Synchronised Swimming 14:45 – 15:30
Synchronised Swimming is a mixture of dance, gymnastics and swimming. It is a great way to get fit, strong and flexible and build your mental skills. It’s also a great way to make new friends.
You first need to learn basic skills of sculling, moving in the water and positions and figures. Then you put this together to do dance routines in the water to music which is played through underwater speakers.
Erith Synchro Section was formed in 2001 to compliment the lane Swimming Section of the Club. It was initially coached by Sam Finch and Lisa Burdett who were ex National Synchronised Swimmers. The Section is now coached by Alex, Janet, Jenny, Lissie, Nicky & Steve. Our present Section ranges from 7 to 25 years of age. We have two groups: Cygnets our Learn to Synchro Group and Swans our established skilled swimmers. We swim at Erith, Shooters Hill & Swanley.
We welcome new swimmers to try out this fun and challenging sport. If you enjoy swimming then Synchronised Swimming may be for you. Your first session is free so come along and have a try.
For more info on the squad please look through the Synchro Newsletters as edited by Pete Ledwidge or contact Jenny Kennedy via e-mail to synchro@edsc.org.uk.
